1. Overview
ParkCrow LLC ("ParkCrow," "we," "us," or "our") provides community-powered parking information, map tools, temporary spot conversations, traffic-agent alerts, safety features, and related services. This policy explains the categories of information we process and the choices available to you.
Never read, type, report, or message while driving. Pull over and park safely before interacting with ParkCrow.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information
When you create an account, we may collect your email address, username, password-related authentication records, profile photo, vehicle preferences you choose to provide, verification status, rank, reputation, and contribution metrics.
Device, security, and technical information
We may process device or browser identifiers, signed session information, operating system, app version, notification token, IP address, timestamps, security events, and diagnostics. These records help us protect accounts, recognize trusted installations, prevent abuse, and send new-device login alerts.
Location and parking activity
With permission, ParkCrow processes location, accuracy, heading, and time information to show nearby content, operate map controls and the Direction Beam, apply distance-based safety rules, and validate certain parking actions. We do not intend to create a continuous, permanent record of your exact movements.
Community content and support
We process spots, reports, likes, chat messages, traffic-agent alerts, moderation reports, and information you send to support. Do not submit sensitive personal information in public or private chat.
3. How we use information
- Provide maps, nearby parking information, chat, notifications, account features, and support.
- Verify location-dependent actions and enforce limits or safety rules.
- Authenticate users, recognize devices, prevent fraud and abuse, and investigate security events.
- Moderate content, respond to reports, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- Improve reliability, accessibility, performance, and user experience.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect ParkCrow, users, and the public.
4. Location choices
You control location permission through your device or browser. Some ParkCrow features require precise or sufficiently accurate location to work safely. Turning off location may limit nearby results, Direction Beam behavior, spot actions, and safety checks. Your device may provide approximate or inaccurate location, especially indoors or around tall buildings.
5. Chats, reports, and notifications
Shared Spot Chat and private owner conversations are tied to an active parking spot. Ordinary conversations are designed to be temporary and are removed when the associated spot expires, is removed, becomes unavailable, or otherwise closes. If a user reports chat content, ParkCrow may retain a limited snapshot of recent messages and related context as moderation evidence under our retention and legal obligations.
Notification preferences, muted spots, and spot-scoped user controls help determine whether alerts appear. Mobile operating systems and browsers also control whether notifications are permitted.
6. When we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose limited information to service providers that help operate ParkCrow, such as hosting, database, mapping, email, analytics, notification, and security providers. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, in connection with a business transaction, or with your direction or consent.
Public usernames, approved profile information, ranks, and selected contribution metrics may be visible to other ParkCrow users. We do not intentionally make account email addresses, device identifiers, login records, or administrative-only data public.
7. Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here. Parking spots and traffic-agent alerts are generally short-lived and normally display for about 15 minutes. Ordinary Spot Chat content follows the related spot lifecycle. Account, security, moderation, support, transaction, and legally required records may be retained longer. Backup deletion may take additional time.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is completely secure. Use a unique password, protect verification codes, keep your device updated, and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
9. Your choices and rights
You may update available profile and notification settings in ParkCrow, change device permissions, sign out, or request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. We may verify your identity before acting on a request and may retain information when legally permitted or required.
10. Children
ParkCrow is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as ParkCrow develops. The updated date above will change when revisions become effective. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to [email protected].
